This is the official website for the proposed class action settlement in the Superior Court of the
State of California for the County of Los Angeles for the property damage claims against
Defendants Southern California Gas Company and Sempra Energy arising from the gas leak
from Well SS-25 that was discovered on October 23, 2015.
Persons and/or businesses that owned or leased real property within five miles of Well SS-25
at any time between October 23, 2015 and February 18, 2016 are Class Members in the
Settlement Class. Persons or businesses that filed an individual action against the Defendants
that has been coordinated with other cases in the Southern California Gas Leak Cases, JCCP
No. 4861, are excluded from the Settlement Class. If you received a postcard about the proposed settlement in the mail, then you likely meet the criteria for being a Class Member.
If the Court grants Final Approval of the Settlement Agreement and other contingencies are met, the Defendants will pay $40,000,000
to cover class representative service awards, attorneys fees and litigation costs, costs of Class notice and settlement administration,
and payments to Class Members. Each Class Member who has not opted out from the Class will be eligible to receive a settlement
benefit payment in an amount that represents a pro rata share per eligible property of the settlement fund.
If you received an email notice or post card notice by mail from the administrator, you need only to submit your W-9 information to
receive a settlement benefit payment.
